Abstract: In this paper a new pulse sampling apparatus which can be operated in both the pulse introduction and the conventional introduction is described.It has been used to determine five elements,Ca,Mg,Fe,Mn and Zn,in a traditional chinese medicine by flame atomic absorption spectrophotomeny.The experimental results obtained have shown that satisfactory analytical results by two sampling methods can be obtained by using this device.The linear range is about two times extended and the analytical speed and the precision increased.Besides,the sample quantity is greatly reduced.
