Study on Correlation Between Chemical Oxygen Demand and Total Organic Carbon of Acrylic Wastewater

  • Both chemical oxygen demand(CODCr) and total organic carbon(TOC) can be used to characterize the organic contaminant level. CODCr index, generally can only reflect a part of the content of organic compound in the evaluation of polluted wastewater, while TOC can comprehensively reflect the contents of organic compounds in wastewater. The acrylic wastewater was analyzed, the results showed that these two indicators met the relationship y=1.147 5x+74.75(R2=0.955 26). The recovery ranges were from 98%~115%, the TOC determination data were accurate, reliable and of high precision under certain conditions. TOC can be converted into CODCr indirectly.
