Abstract
A procedure has been developed to determine 7 compounds of bisphenol A and its analogues in plastic toys by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with ultrasonic extraction. The samples were ultrasonically extracted by tetrahydrofuran for 30 mins and then the plastic matrix was separated by the precipitation with methanol. The extract was concentrated, evaporated by nitrogen, and dissolved in methanol and analyzed by HPLC, using an external standard method. The linear calibration curve was obtained in the range of 0.1~5.0 mg/L with a correlation coefficient over 0.998 8. The quantification limit was 0.24~0.72 mg/kg. And the average recoveries were in the range of 92.7%~108.7% for bisphenol A and its analogues with the relative standard deviations in the range of 1.9%~7.1%. The method is simple, rapid, accurate and can be applied to the determination of the bisphenol and its analogues in plastic toys.
