Determination of Trace Europium by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

This paper is on the enrichment of trace europium, desorption condition and the interference during measurement. The results have shown that proper amount of Fe²⁺ is essential for quantitative analysis of Eu³⁺. The sensitivity and reproducibility can be guaranteed through techniques of graphite tube with tantalum-dipped thermo coating and photo-thermo control. The method is simple, accurate and reproducible for the measurement of rocks and minerals in big lots with Eu₂O₃>1×10^-5%.
