Abstract
Via spectrophotometric method and fluorescence transfer system, the reaction mechanism of Calcein-Safranine T with calf thymus DNA(ctGNA) was investigated. Factors on the inhibition of this fluorescence transfer system were also discussed. At pH 8.0 and low ionic strength, the static electric charge interaction of calf thymus DNA with Safranine T occurred and resulted in remarkable inhibition of the fluorescence energy transfer of Calcein-Safranine T pair.
