Determination of Amylose Content in Rice by Flow Injection Analysis (FIA)

A method for determination of amylose content in rice was established and validated by using Danmark FOSS FIAstar-5000 with SoFIA operation software. The results indicated that the method can be used to determine amylose content in rice in the range of macro-and micro-levels under the conditions of measureing wavelengh 720 nm, reference wavelengh 880 nm, injection and colorimetric time 20 s and measuring time 40 s. Amylose content in rice measured by FIA is feasible and the operations are more convenient and rapid than conventional methods.
