Study on the Electrochemiluminescence(ECL) of Rhodamine B

  • It is found that Rhodamine B has strong ECL on the Pt electrode in alkaline solution. In optimized condition, in the range between 1.2×10-7and 1.1×10-6 mol/L, the ECL intensity has linear relationship with the concentration of Rhodamine B, the detection limit( define as S/N=3) is 9.0×10-8mol/L. The mechanism for the ECL of Rhodamine B has been proposed too. It is known that Rhodamine B can react with some bioactive compounds, so it is possible to detect those compounds through the ECL of Rhodamine B.
