Content of Lead in Oil Paints by FAAS

Three pretreatments,dry ashing,wet oxidation methods,A and B,were used to digest oil paint,and then the content of lead in oil paints was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry.The results show that the wet oxidation method A is superior wet oxidation method B and dry ashing.A recovery ratio of higher than 90% of the wet oxidation method A,tested with a spiked standard can satisfy the requirement of testing the content of lead in oil paint.
