Determination of Benzene in Drinking Water by Automated Headspace Gas Chromatography and Solvent Extraction Gas Chromatography

  • Benzene in drinking water was analyzed by the automated headspace gas chromatography, gas chromatography conditions and headspace conditions were optimized, and compared with the solvent extraction method specified in the National Standard GB/T5750.8-2006. The automatic headspace gas chromatographic method has good linearity in the range of 0.00~105.00 μg/L, the correlation coefficient was better than 0.999, with a lowest detection limit of 0.0 042 mg/L, the recovery rate was 96.2%~98.7%, the relative standard deviation of 0.70%. The experimental results showed that the automatic headspace gas chromatography is more convenient, accurate, sensitive, with less disturbance.
